Flow Goes to Boracay!

What better way is there to kick off the summer than to sink your toes into powdery soft sand, lounge under the warm embrace of summer sunshine, and relax in one of the worlds best beach destinations, Boracay? I sure can’t think of any other way to make this season better.

Well, apparently three lovely ladies could: Gonzales-Bernardo, Monica Manzano and Noelle Hilario, founders of  Flow SurfYogaSamba decided to take their wildly amazing Flow event to the island!

Dreaming of a Yoga Retreat

It is my fervent wish that in 2013, I get to go back to The Farm at San Benito for a Yoga Retreat. I AM CLAIMING IT NOW. Universe, I will get my retreat. I know I will. The Farm is quite a special place to me as it has been a venue of many life changing moments that happened to me this past year. It was at The Farm that I met my teacher and decided to become a teacher myself as well. It was also there that I found peace with a deeply painful wound I nursed in my heart. Lastly, it was at The Farm that I unintentionally became a vegetarian. There is just something magical in that place I tell you. I don’t know exactly what it is, but being there just is amazing. Whether it is at the amphitheater for some yoga, or sitting by the pool gently illuminated by jandy led pool lights in the evening, or maybe strolling through the trees and flowers, the magic draws you in.

Again I say it…I will get my retreat at The Farm in 2013. I will.

Catch the Flow!

In celebration of their 3rd year anniversary, the Flow girls Monica, Noelle and Denise invite you to Flow with them in Zambales for the next FLOW SurfYogaSamba retreat. After the hugely successful weekend at the GK Enchanted farm a few months ago, the girls are taking it back to the shore, this time in the dream Casa San Miguel in Zambales from November 30-December 2. Adding excitement to the event are Corey Wills, who will be leading a fundamentals yoga class to prepare the mind and body for surfing, which he will teach as well. Also joining the weekend is Mona Lisa Neuboeck, a raw food chef, who will be sharing about how to eat healthfully raw at any surf spot (I suppose this goes for any beach or nature spot too? Teehee). The weekend would not be complete, of course, without Monica Eleazar-Manzano’s yin yoga class, drumming ans samba dancing with the Escola de Samba de Manila and a green smoothie workshop with the Flow team. Let’s Flow in the City!

For those like me who can’t take time off to join the Flow SurfYogaSamba retreats, here’s a great way to take that long-deserved time out without having to leave Manila!

The lovely ladies of Flow, along with other amazing guests and teachers, are bringing Flow to the city once again on August 4, 2012 at Beyond Yoga, Quezon City. Expect an afternoon of fun, learning, and great company with various workshops, activities, and talks that will definitely give you that boost  you need to make it through the rest of the busy-ness 2012 is bound to bring :)

Here are some of the things you can expect from Flow in the City:

  • an NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) workshop for Better Communication and Motivation by guest speaker PJ Lanot. NLP is said to be the art and science of how people can will themselves and inspire others to excellence through proper encoding of information and communication.
  • A super fun Anti-Gravity FUNdamentals class with certified AGY teacher Monica Eleazar-Manzano. Fly, laugh and bring out your inner child as you learn to hold and balance in challenging yoga poses, develop better kinesthetic awareness and build cardiovascular and muscular strength, while increasing flexibility and joint mobility. AGY also is a great way to decompress the vertebrae of the spine as you hang upside and give yourselves a chance to see things from a whole new perspective :)
  • A heart pumping and calorie burning Zumba session with Zumba Academy certified Dance and Toning instructor, Sharon Yu
  • An exploration Inner Dance with the FLOW group. (This is something I have never tried and am quite curious about :) )
  • A seminar on how to make your own Green Smoothies with by the folks from Sunshine Daydream and Rawlicious
  • A yummy vegetarian potluck dinner with kindred-spirits to cap off the day

Sounds like fun, yes? A full-day package costs P1,999 which includes a tote bag with goodies from sponsors. You may also just choose your own preferred activities with a minimum of two classes to join.
